Virtually every major pathology has been linked to fatherlessness. Violent crime, drug and alcohol abuse, teen pregnancy, suicide – all correlate more strongly to fatherlessness than any other single factor. Join us on 27th November 2021 at St.Paul's Catholic University Chapel as we will be evaluating how each dimension of the life of a child can be impacted by the absence of the father. Most importantly, how then can we mitigate the problem.

We all have wounds from those who fathered us. Sometimes even the best fathers disappoint their children - it is inevitable. We understand that some wounds are deeper than others due to a father's neglect, abuse, absenteeism, and lack of good fathering skills. In this 6th edition, we are delighted to have someone that has wrestled with the question of how to recover from fathering wounds. In his book titled, "Turning Your Past Pains into Lasting Gains" Mr. William Maranga opens up about wounds from his relationship with the father, healing from within, and most importantly, becoming a good father and finding ways to make up to the experiences missed. Mr. Maranga is also a Communication and Image Consultant, Founder Partner of Northcott and Williamson and Motivational Speaker. His mantra is moving forward by looking backward and making peace with the past!

This fourth edition of Fathers and Sons looks at the Generational Conflict between fathers and sons. As we try to foster a strong relationship between the two, we would also like to show the importance of the differences, efforts to struggle with and assimilate the generational differences, how painful and disruptive the process might be and most importantly how such efforts can lead to healthy families and strong generations.

The father-son relationship can be complex. Fathers and sons with widely different interests can find it hard to relate to one another. Sometimes, dads and sons feel competitive against one another. Sometimes issues are compounded as both want a better father-son relationship but neither one quite knows how to go about it. It is against this background that the academy intends to host a monthly “Fathers and Sons”. These sessions and activities are designed to support the father and son to build a strong relationship and develop future leaders with a wider purpose in life.
